WHAT IS KARUNA REIKI?

Karuna reiki is a form of spiritual healing derived from the reiki practice invented by the Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui in the 1920s. Karuna reiki is considered to be a Western form of the reiki spiritual practice. The practice was developed by William Rand, founder of the the International Center for Reiki Training in Michigan.

MEANING OF KARUNA

The Sanskrit word "karuna" reflects any action that is taken to diminish the suffering of others, according to the International Center for Reiki Training. Karuna is used in Hindi and most directly translates into English as "compassionate action." Karuna deals with the enlightenment of individuals and recognizing the existence of all beings. This recognition aims to lead those who practice karuna reiki to extend compassion to others. Karuna proposes that all beings are connected as one. When applying karuna logic to this, compassion becomes a natural reaction.

KARUNA REIKI PRACTICE

It has been found that in order for you to gain the full benefit of Karuna Reiki you must be ready. This can happen only if your energy system has first been conditioned through the use of the Reiki master energies. Once this conditioning has taken place your energy system can more easily adjust to the higher potentials available. In addition the experience you gain as a Reiki master allows you to make better use of the new healing tools Karuna Reiki provides. This is why it is taught only to those who are already Reiki masters.

Karuna Reiki brings in healing energies that are noticeably stronger and able to more quickly heal a wider range of difficulties. Many experience the energy flowing not just through the body and arms, but all around the outside as well so that it completely surrounds the practitioner on its way to the client. This can be a very moving experience and many who have been Reiki masters for years begin channeling healing results that are more powerful than previously experienced. This often inspires one to consider why it is so strong and where the energies come from.

One of the advantages of Karuna Reiki is that it works alongside Usui Reiki and indeed both energy systems enhance each other.
